Through Cooking, Games and Parenting, New Products & Ventures is a group of subscription-first businesses that leverage the brand authority of The New York Times to target large market opportunities. We focus on building through user-centered design, and are composed of tightly knit, interdependent representatives from product and project management, development and design. * Champion and support Agile software development practices, and tailor that process (including scrums, planning, review and retrospective sessions, demos and more) to each project team.
* Ensure that project schedules and project scope are well defined. Track progress and report status on a regular basis to the project team, partners and leadership.
* Become a trusted partner with cross-disciplinary teams and ensure that product goals are clearly defined and are being met.
* Demonstrate flexibility in problem solving and in handling uncertainty, adapting and changing tasks according to project needs.

Who you are:

* You set the tone for and work well in a dynamic, iterative and collaborative environment

* You have talent for uniting and motivating teams

* You can own complex efforts and manage the risks

* You enjoy the challenge of mediating between different interests and personalities

* You are an influencer who knows how to create or rally alignment and build consensus

* You are driven to continuously ship and know how to organize teams to do so successfully

* You appreciate user research and the product discovery process

* You have passion for The New York Times's mission and are dedicated to be a part of our innovation and growth

Qualifications:

* Experience as a project manager on a digital consumer product as part of an integrated team with product, design and engineering

* Experience applying concepts and techniques from multiple agile approaches

* Experience facilitating product development teams from discovery to execution lifecycle with a build, measure and learn approach

* Excellent organizational skills

* Superb communication skills, including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical contributors, and between project teams and senior leadership.

* Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, or other project management software tools for Roadmaps, Resource Planning and project documentation needs

* An understanding of web and/or mobile application technologies
