JOB SUMMARY: Under direction, repair, maintain and troubleshoot fleet vehicles, heavy equipment and support equipment. DEADLINE TO APPLY: July 26, 2019 JOB TASKS (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE): Troubleshoot and repair two and four cycle engines, air/water cooled systems and engines and diesel and gas engines. Troubleshoot and repair fleet vehicles which include garbage, flatbed and pickup trucks. Troubleshoot and repair support equipment which include: personnel lift, mark lift, crane, air compressor, loaders forklifts, industrial sweepers, beach cleaner and electric carts. Operate wrenches and screwdrivers along with other tools including: air powered and electric tools, multimeters, feeler gauges and brake cyl. honing tool. Document work completed in a timely fashion to meet department record keeping requirements. Maintain records on work performed on all vehicle and support equipment. Operate company vehicles on and off site and operate other support equipment including forklifts, motorized carts and personnel lifts. Coordinate work with other departments. Estimate costs and material for vandalized vehicles or other support equipment. Read and interpret schematic diagrams and sketches. May supervise seasonal staff. Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic & air brake systems. Knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Knowledge of low voltage DC electrical systems. Knowledge of the proper use of hand tools and related support equipment i.e.; screwdrivers, wrenches, multimeters feeler gauges and power tools. Ability to use hand tools and support equipment to maintain and repair vehicles and equipment. Ability to perform daily maintenance safety inspections per predetermined procedures. Ability to document tasks performed or findings and keep accurate records. Ability to follow safety practices and proper lifting procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to adjust priorities.
