The R&D Associate is an entry-level Research & Development (R&D) position responsible for providing technical documentation, database and other support for new product development and launches. This position works closely with R&D Technologists, Product Managers, Sales, Quality and the Upstream Innovation within the Company. This position also interacts closely with technical teams of contract customers by supplying required documentation for new product launches. Duties and ResponsibilitiesGenerate and maintain nutritional and supplement facts master labels for new products.Proof supplement/nutrition facts, ingredients and content claims on product labels.Maintain nutritional calculation database (Genesis).Maintain technical sections of all retail portals.Work with Quality and suppliers to provide raw material documents to support contract customer launches, as needed.Manage tasks and timelines on Upstream Innovation and R&D projects (Workfront). Required QualificationsAssociates degree in biology, chemistry or related field.Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint).Strong analytical, organization, time management, customer service and verbal/written communication skills.Ability to adjust work priorities quickly to meet changing demands. Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in chemistry, food science, technology or related field.3-6 months' internship or other related work experience in the food or dietary supplement industry. Physical RequirementsThe employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
