**General Scope and Summary**
SAGE Therapeutics is searching for a creative, resourceful, integrative thinker responsible for ideating, developing and executing internal communications strategies and plans that will inform, engage and inspire all employees, and ultimately advance business and individual performance.
This leader will partner closely with HR, corporate communications, investor relations, and digital communications colleagues and business partners around the world to create and execute integrated communications campaigns and plans.
Equip and empower leaders to have the communications tools they need to share information and solicit valuable input in support of company objectives.
Plan and create digital and social media content to support talent and HR objectives.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Lead the development and execution of strategic, organization-wide, high-profile integrated internal communications plans/campaigns/initiatives designed to advance Sage's internal communications strategy, based on the Company's vision, priorities, and culture.
+ Advise and influence leaders on strategic communications messaging, channels, and delivery style; provide input into key strategic initiatives for functions and large sites.
+ Lead communications for the HR organization. Work closely with Sage's Human Resources Leadership Team to effectively communicate and differentiate Sage's vision for alignment and our mission to serve people living with CNS disorders.
+ Work closely with global business and functional leaders/teams to strengthen employee engagement and reinforce a strong corporate culture.
+ Use and contribute to the development of new technologies to achieve communications goals across all Sage channels and sites, including a variety of traditional, digital, and social media tactics. This role will represent Communications on a high-profile cross functional enterprise digital experience work team and will have responsibility for the launch of a new Intranet.
+ Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics for continuous improvement, measured by qualitative and quantitative feedback.
+ Define, execute, and evolve Sage Therapeutics social media content for talent brand and acquisition in line with business objectives and corporate content.
**Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills**
Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, ability to identify issues and raise to key stakeholders in order to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and recommendations. Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action; excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or equivalent.
+ 10+ years of communications experience including employee engagement/internal communications experience.
+ Experience in employee engagement/internal communications
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with knowledge of emerging communications trends and technologies.
+ Strong project management skills alongside strategic thinking and a detail-oriented approach.
+ Action-oriented and successful in ideating and executing strategic and tactical plans that deliver results.
+ Builds strong relationships with peers and cross-functional partners within and outside of team to enable higher performance; is clear and courageous and can manage difficult conversations though direct and constructive dialogue
+ Learns fast, grasps the 'essence' and can change course quickly where indicated; raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo; creates a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement
+ A track record of innovation, challenging the status quo and taking action to identify and implement improvement opportunities
+ Experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders. An ability to influence for greater outcomes.
+ Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution oriented.
+ Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
