Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
  • Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • Nice to Have KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATIONBS in Engineering discipline (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Operations Research, etc.) MS/MBA preferredJOB EXPERIENCEexperience with increasingly complex engineering responsibilities in a manufacturing environment Engineering experience with disposable medical devices Equipment and process Design and Development Experience with developing equipment and related processes especially molding equipment and polymer bonding- experience in an ISO13485/GMP environmentSKILLS/COMPETENCIES Design of Experiments, process validation equipment development (IQ/OQ/PQ)Project management experience Small tooling design and development Knowledge of polymer materials and related processes Electro-Mechanical troubleshooting skills Medtronic Engineer Technical Certification Verbal, written and presentation skills Technical writing skills Microsoft Project Strong statistical skills using Minitab Six Sigma, Constraint Management and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred- Team dynamic skills (communication, accountability, decision-making, feedback, meeting management, managing conflict). Some travel required
