Performs/provides operational, maintenance, and networking support for internal customers, by executing at a high level of service with seamless technical expertise of Canon Solutions America supported products in accordance with the current Service and Parts Standards, in a 24/7 environment. Must be goal oriented, have an interest in technology and excellent customer service skills. Diagnose mechanical and system failures using established procedures and perform customer network installs with minimal or no assistance. Unresolved problems will be escalated in accordance with standard procedures. Will be able to identify and understand complicated issues, problems, and opportunities, and take appropriate actions that are consistent with available facts.
Key Duties / Responsibilities - Essential duties are identified by asterisks.
Assist operators with minor maintenance issues as needed and replace broken or damaged items in a timely manner. Performs electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repairs in response to equipment errors or failures. (40%)
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and audits. (15%)
Make recommendations on repair strategy and priority. (5%)
Assist with facilities maintenance and other duties as assigned. (10%)
Ability to review, interpret, and understand performance data that will enable them to identify and implement performance improvement activities. (10%)
Identify, document, train, and perform maintenance best practices. (10%)
Lead and/or assist with local Engineering upgrades and projects. (10%)

Education & Knowledge Required
High school education and Mechanical and or electronic courses. Formal mechanical training is a plus. A+ Training is a plus. Basic color certification is a plus.
Experience / Skills / Abilities Required
Strong mechanical reasoning skills and conscientiousness
Ability to work in fast-paced environment under time constraints
Strong communication and problem solving skills
Three to five years of direct experience as a field technician in the office equipment industry, including toner and inkjet based black-and- white and color products.
You must be able to effectively manage your own time and resources, and ensure that work is completed efficiently, including scheduling work to accommodate customer's needs and end user SLAs.
Must be able to use diagnostics tools (meters, etc)
Computer literate. Must possess knowledge of various computer platforms, general application software, and networking and Internet environments.
Strong mechanical skills
Basic plumbing knowledge
Good Organizational, administrative & planning skills
Inventory management experience is a plus.
Communication & Contacts Required
Converses with equipment operators to ascertain whether mechanical or human error contributed to equipment breakdown. Requires continuous communication with Team Leaders / Managers to update status and align equipment priorities. Communication with suppliers, customers (internal and external), and corporate engineering is required. Must be able to work effectively and cooperatively with supervisors, other team members, and with customers, and must be able to clearly communicate technical information, both orally and in writing.
Judgment and decision-making required on a daily basis with regards to machine downtime and trouble-shooting.
Have working knowledge of lock out tag out and hot work permits procedures.
