Young Adult Activities Coordinator

We're looking bring on board a Young Adult Activities Coordinator, who will deliver young adult focused activities that are youth led and trauma informed to youth ages 18-25. Activities will encompass education, career development, health and wellness, and the arts that will build self-respect and self-esteem, develop positive social identities, and create and enhance appropriate peer networks. The Young Adult Activities Coordinator [YAA] will conduct outreach & recruitment, focus on the development and oversight of Young Adult [YA] volunteer opportunities, marketing and promotional activities including community event participation, and work to solicit, facilitate and incorporate youth voice into all aspects of activity planning.

The Recovery Support Center is encompassed in peer governance and uses the peer participatory process to create a safe, inclusive environment to promote ongoing growth and long term recovery.


The Young Adult Activities Coordinator will:

  • Have a High School diploma or equivalent (HiSet)
  • Embrace and work in a culturally and linguistically diverse recovery community
  • Have a demonstrated, effective track record working with youth/young adults in recovery.
  • Be in active recovery from a substance use disorder
  • Be willing to engage in services provided by the Peer Recovery Support Center
  • Have a genuine and accurate understanding of the developmental needs of young adults
  • Commitment to continued training as the Young Adult Activities Coordinator
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency using a computer and standard computer software/functions i.e. Word, Outlook/email
  • Flexibility to adapt to unforeseen needs or circumstances
  • Meet acceptable background check thresholds/requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record, and reliable transportation
