Position Summary

Primary Purpose

The Sr. Systems Analyst, HANA will be working as a member of the Business Intelligence and Analytics team. An ability to translate the requirements of the Ferrara business into easy to use solutions is key to success. The expectations are that this role will work in partnership with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), super users, end-users, IT Analysts, and IT Leadership taking initiative to deliver on time and on budget. An ability to communicate risks in real time and escalate when necessary is required for this role.

Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of the SAP HANA platform and database. This includes the application architecture and the technical areas that impact system performance and reliability of data. Implementing best practices across the entire life cycle of a solution from the idea phase through build, test and post production support is mandatory for this role. Leveraging other technical resources both internal and external to Ferrara is required. The Sr. Systems Analyst, HANA will manage the quality, availability, and reliability of these SAP services while handling multiple requests simultaneously.

Major Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Lead small to moderate size projects creating project plans, assigning/monitoring project tasks, facilitating team meetings, ensuring on-time/on-budget delivery of solutions
  • Participate in all phases of project life cycle project identification, feasibility, blueprinting / design, configuration, testing, documentation, implementation, training/ ongoing support
  • Work with management to drive decisions needed to configure system to meet business requirements. Independently consults with management to develop/manage problem resolution. Assists management with continuous improvement efforts to improve company profitability/provide optimal functionality
  • Work with the business to define/implement appropriate security strategies
  • Develop/maintain HANA development utilized in SAP and in interfaces where SAP plays a part
  • Apply structure/enforce identified organizational standards relative to system enhancements, changes, issues/problems
  • Analyze and document complex business requirements and judges the impact of those requirements within a specific module and across all modules of the system
  • Take an active role in change control processes for testing & implementing system changes, fixes, enhancements
  • Develop use cases, test plans, test scripts and test cases
  • Execute test plans and test scripts / cases to ensure system changes are aligned with business requirements
  • Communicate with staff at all levels in the organization business and IT
  • Provide knowledge transfer and support to other team members within the department
  • Develop and maintain programs to enhance application modules using SAP development tools
  • Collaborate with the SAP Functional Management, Business and Systems Analysts and user departments to develop specifications for system enhancements for continuous functional improvement
  • Troubleshoot and correct SAP problems by implementing OSS notes or modifying code in user exits
  • Develop Test Plans and automated scripts to assure expected performance quality levels meet standards in development efforts
  • Provide technical support to users on matters related to the programming of SAP modules and interfaces to bolt on software
  • Prepare comprehensive and thorough technical program documentation including specifications, test conditions, test plans, test data
  • Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with process owners, SAP support staff, and project consultants
  • Train users on newly created reports, forms or other related system enhancements
  • Learn and apply new concepts in information technology; update skills to adapt to changing SAP technology
  • Troubleshoot production problems in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Understand and demonstrate the Company s core values

Education and Experience
  • BA/BS in computer science, IS, MIS, Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred
  • 5 or more years of cumulative professional experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, ABAP Developer, or in a related position
  • 5 years of recent experience with ABAP or HANA required
  • 3 years of database / data warehouse / programming experience using SQL
  • 3 years working in a business-facing role
  • Strong SAP technical expertise and experience including:
    • Participation in two or more implementations achieving production status
    • Complete understanding of the integration points between SAPs core modules, interfaces and their inter-dependencies
  • SLT, SAP Data Services, HANA UI, and BusinessObjects experience is a plus
