JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, responsible for identifying, evaluating, and planning strategies for addressing crisis management, emergency response, business continuity, and disaster recovery issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages workgroup mailbox.

Maintains department documents including standards, templates, communications, tools, and program reference documentation.

Prepares metrics and status updates on availability, readiness, and preparedness for business continuity management.

Schedules and administers business continuity plan exercises and audits.

Trains the field in using business continuity management tools, crisis management, and general preparedness.

Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field preferred. Business continuity certification and/or experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

None.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Must be able to set own goals and deadlines, and see that they are achieved. Able to work both independently and in group environment.
