Job Summary Clinical Psychologist - Bariatric Clinic Schedule: Variable Depending on Availability, typically 2 days per week. Provides assessments for surgical weight loss patients. Coordinates and provides individualized ageappropriate care for patients. This position requires an interest and ability to work with patients who are undergoing psychiatric care and rehabilitation for functional deficits. The clinical psychologist is an integral part of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The primary responsibility of this job is to provide quality assessment and patient care. The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. As such, the individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age and specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures. Major challenges include the maintenance of effective communication and collaborative relationships with attending physicians, and care team members. Experience: Two years clinical experience which may include the year of internship required. The second year must be post-graduate and include supervision by a licensed Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist. Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensed by Virginia by the Board of Medicine as a clinical psychologist or by the Board of Psychology as a Psychologist (Clinical), or in West Virginia by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists required. Must have de-escalation training successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained annually going forward when working in the inpatient environment. Other Minimum Qualifications: Meets credentialing requirements. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with physicians and other health care providers.
