Commercial Banking Associate Relationship Manager

Summary The Associate Relationship Manager is a resource supporting all functions of the commercial bank. The successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of financial, regulatory and compliance requirements, working knowledge of commercial loan types, structures and practices, and the ability to manage multiple and changing deadlines. Core Responsibilities Assist the Relationship Managers (RMs) with: Maintaining commercial banking sales pipeline and recurring account planning calendar Monetizing on potential opportunities for existing customers, including identifying clients who are potential candidates for specific products/services Prospect due diligence Return on Equity (ROE) model Performing KYC (Know You Customer), review and update information as needed Producing research on companies and research industries for Relationship Managers utilizing tools such as Hoovers, First Data, Linked-In, etc Building external network of centers of influence and attend networking events Partnering with RMs to create prospect list and attend meetings with Relationship Managers Assist the Portfolio Managers (PMs) with: Handling of the loans including approving advances and reviewing all collateral matters Contacting clients for account monitoring and administration Account monitoring needs working with the Relationship Managers and Underwriters during the underwriting process Validating and analyzing reports such as Financial Statements, Borrowing Base Certificates, Collateral Field Examinations, Appraisals, and other diligence reports, etc. to verify compliance Participate in special projects and requests related to the management of the portfolios Specific requirements A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in business administration, economics, or finance. Experience in a commercial bank, or more generally the financial services industry, is preferred. A minimum of internship experience, with at least some of experience in a customer-oriented role, either in sales, business development, or relationship management is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with all levels of personnel are needed. Must have moderate-to-advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint , and must be familiar with research and client contact databases. Requires the ability to successfully manage and prioritize a heavy workload, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude. Must be client-service oriented and have the ability to work independently as needed while also working well with others.
