Corporate Job Summary:

Reporting to the President of our Personal Care Lines (PCL)at Amedisys, the Vice President of Operations of PCL at Amedisys plays a leadershiprole in PCL s s operations by providing administrative oversight for all coreand ancillary operations. The COO is responsible for the day-to-day operationsof PCL and works closely with the senior leadership team to determine long-terminstitutional objectives, develop a strategy to achieve those objectives, andeffectively communicate the strategy throughout the organization. She/he isresponsible for department leaders in establishing a measure of performance,increase productivity, quality improvement, cost controls and efficientutilization of resources. Will serve as the primary operational liaison andpoint of coordination between support functions, corporate departments,external government agencies on a wide range of clinical, programmatic, and/oradministrative issues on behalf of the President of PCL. This position isresponsible for successfully fulfilling Amedisys personal care mission andeffective oversight of the various operating units and support team components.Establish and implement standard operating procedures and best practices todrive business results.

Essential Functions:
  • Plays a lead role in executing PCL s vision for client caredelivery that is consistent with accepted national practice standards andregulatory requirements for all of PCL; and responsible to ensure the mosteffective overall quality of care and define initiatives to continue to improvecare with accountability to provide timely updates to PCL leadership andAmedisys executive team.
  • Acts as the primary administrative contact for PCL s leadersand employees, especially department heads. Collaborates with PCL s seniorleadership team to discover new solutions, implement best practices andproactively address opportunities for improvement to enhance systems andoperations.
  • Responsible for clients and family services initiatives atPCL, overseeing the local functioning of corporate operational systems andexpanding revenue performance.
  • Assumes line responsibility and authority for the administrativedirection, evaluation, and coordination of the functions and activities ofassigned departments within the organization to ensure operation objectives andresults are in accordance with overall PCL needs.
  • Sets the standard for PCL in terms of organization,follow-through, work ethic, customer relations, responsiveness,action-orientation, professional behavior, and compliance with policies.
  • Oversees and leads employee-focused management functionsrelated to hiring, on-boarding/orientation, coaching/development, staffing,work assignments, employee relations, and performance management as guided bycompany policy and procedures. Proactively communicates with staff and keepsthem informed on a regular basis or as needed.
  • Plays lead role in the development and execution of PCL svision, goals, and other new business ventures.
  • Assures that PCL meets and exceeds all applicable regulatoryrequirements of agencies and assumes responsibility for the readiness of PCL tomeet all inspections, surveys, and review including state licensure, federalcertifications, and accreditations by implementing the company s systems,policies, and standards.
  • Partners closely with leaders locally and enterprise-wide toexecute and support PCL s strategic and tactical plans across the organization.
  • Develops and manages a highly capable and committedmanagement team that shares a passion for highest quality client-centered care;multi-stakeholder collaboration; process improvement; financial accountability;caregiver/employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Monitors and evaluates employees performance. Holdsemployees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives.Executes effective performance redirection where appropriate.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications: Required:
  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing or related field.
  • Five (5+) years of upper management experience in healthcare (personal care preferably).
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of company initiatives with proven positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability and business acumen.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with a deep understanding of the linkage between excellent customer care and financial or business performance.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and motivating a high-performing team.
  • Preferred:
  • Master s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing or related field.
  • Experience overseeing multi-site/multi-market health care delivery programs, and a track record of effective and transparent healthcare operations management.
  • A track record of successful personal care design and oversight; and experience working within a performance- or risk-based contracting model.
