Your responsibilities will include owning segment strategy, planning, business development and go-to-market for the digital native businesses, developing/maturing cross-functional go-to-market execution mechanisms, partnering with functional teams (BD, Marketing, Partner, Solutions Architecture, Sales Enablement, Sales Operations, Services/Product, etc.) to measure and monitor progress against the business plan, publishing segment business performance metrics, identifying signals/gaps/opportunities and developing well researched data driven narrative recommendations for new initiatives and investments, or improving/retiring existing mechanisms.You will work closely with the cross-functional global teams, including Business Development, Solutions Architecture, Professional Services, Training, Sales Enablement, Sales Operations, Marketing, Services/Product, and Sales teams. You must be comfortable with leading and influencing cross functional global teams in dynamic organizations as most of your responsibilities will have interdependencies with other teams within AWS.The right candidate will have successful experience in growth-oriented leadership roles in the technology sector with focus on digital native businesses. You will have deep cloud IT domain expertise, and deeply appreciate how AWS can help digital native businesses adopt AWS for their IT and business. You will need a strong analytical acumen, synthesis, structuring, and problem solving skills to translate ambiguous and often incomplete information into action plans and insights. You will need a strong bias for invention and simplification , demonstrated experience in cross-functional stakeholder management and alignment, solid program management skills, a customer-obsessed and collaborative approach, and strong data and metrics bias. You will also need passion for narrative style writing for business plans and programmatic initiatives.Role & Responsibilities Develop and mature mechanisms to deeply understand digital native business customer needs, gaps, and opportunities. Lead annual business and go-to-market planning for the digital native business segment. Develop and mature cross-functional engagement mechanisms for planning and execution. Develop and mature measurement and monitoring mechanisms for the business plan, including metrics capture, reporting, and analytics for identifying signals, opportunities, and challenges. Develop data driven narrative proposals for the new segment initiatives, or evolving/retiring existing initiatives/programs. Incubate new strategic initiatives, as assigned. Hire teams/resources to transition and scale incubation initiatives. Engage the field and mid-market customer CxOs to help customers accelerate the cloud journey on AWS.Basic qualifications 10+ years of relevant leadership experience in the cloud technology-led business development, enterprise architecture, advisory, and/or strategy/planning/transformation roles. Technology depth and breadth both enterprise IT and cloud technologies. Be highly credible with senior technologists, product leaders, and CxO audiences. Exceptional business acumen and high judgment be able to use technology depth and breadth, signals, and data to understand customer pain points and challenges, and inform and shape business growth initiatives. Passion for the digital native business customers deep curiosity to understand how mid-market enterprise are adopting cloud and how to accelerate their cloud journey. Very comfortable with developing, implementing, managing and executing through influence across a cross-functional set of senior stakeholders. Invent and simply mindset. Data driven but comfortable with ambiguity. Exceptional problem-solver. Adept at simplifying complexity and developing scalable propositions. Strong bias for working backwards from customers. Favors iterative hypothesis/test/analyze/ improve approaches. Pragmatic and is right a lot . Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results. Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities. Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills. Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams.Preferred qualification 15+ years of relevant work experience. Balanced leadership experience across business development, strategy/planning, and execution in a multi-billion technology business. Leadership experience in senior technology roles at digital native businesses.
