Business Travel Sales Manager

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Business Travel Industry Sales, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Management and development of long term corporate negotiated partnerships (individual travel), travel agency partnerships, leisure programs and leisure wholesale partnerships as well as other associated individual travel needs.
  • Meet and exceed room revenue targets on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis in corporate published, preferred, volume, consortia and wholesale segments through action plan preparation and execution.
  • Utilization of intelligence tools to clearly understand market share and identify strategies to grow and attract new clients. Tool usage to include Hotelligence with focus on Agency360, Hotel IQ, LinkedIn and PMS (Opera).
  • Follow up on leads both by telephone and by written/email correspondence. Establish parameters, quotes, and negotiated prices, confirming by written contracts.
  • Participation in all territory sales events and trade shows. Involves preparation of events, invitations of clients, facilitating of event and conducting related travel in compliance with hotel standards.
  • Required to conduct active prospecting efforts to continue to build pipeline of business opportunities for hotel by planning and implementing strategies as well as action plans.
  • Conduct site experiences highlighting attributes of the property as well as the destination.
  • Leverage loyalty related programs including ResPlus, Famous Agents and Le Club Accor Hotels.
  • Actively participate in new revenue management strategies with focus on increasing RevPar and market share.
  • Involvement in regional and national industry associations by participating in monthly meetings and committee role.
  • Staying familiar with industry trends via appropriate publications and communications with Global Sales Team.
  • Ability to think strategically about hotels niche in business community and where to pursue business leads for all segments of hotel.
  • Attend all required meetings (weekly sales meetings and morning sales and catering lead meeting).
  • Participate in on going brainstorming sessions on various topics relating to hotel performance and colleague engagement.
  • Participate in training programs including Situational Selling, Negotiating Training, Converting Inquiries and achieve shop score of 90%
  • Work with Sales Coordinator and Representative team to manage and support action plans, participate in annual LEAD reviews and communication effort.
  • Work closely with Reservations and Front Office to ensure all details of the contract were delivered and guests departed satisfied.
  • Approach all encounters with guests, employees and vendors and partners in a friendly, service oriented manner.
  • Prepare, monthly quarterly and annual reports, as required.

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of progressive related experience and previous Sales experience required
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications andor relevant computer applications required
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
