**Opportunity**

Abt Associates seeks an Associate with public health and technical assistance experience. The successful candidate for Associate will be responsible for assisting in the design and analysis of clinical studies or other special studies and serve as a Project Manager on technical assistance and program evaluation projects for HRSA and other federal agencies. The candidate will enjoy working in a team environment, participating in and leading major projects, directing proposal efforts, and managing relationships with the study sponsors. He/she will maintain excellent relationships with federal agency and sponsor scientists and be regarded within target agencies and organizations as a clinical expert. The candidate will have demonstrated capability of presenting and speaking at professional meetings, and supporting development and publication of research findings.

**Key Roles and Responsibilities**

+ Provide technical assistance to grantees, CBO's in the design, implementation and evaluation of projects.
+ Serve as project manager for large to medium HIV-related TA and evaluation projects.
+ Participate with other senior staff in HRSA business development activities by obtaining additional work from existing clients or by identifying new opportunities.
+ Exercise initiative and lead the preparation and review of project reports and findings.
+ Maintain an industry presence as a subject-matter expert by presenting or publishing.
+ Review work and provide technical guidance to less senior staff. Serve as a resource capable of applying advanced TA and evaluation techniques, concepts, and methods related to a particular field of specialization.

**Preferred Skills / Prerequisites**

+ Experience in a managing projects including TA and evaluation programs preferably with HRSA and other HHS agencies. Preference for HIV prevention and treatment experience.
+ Position also requires significant experience in project and program development and sponsor relationship management and proven track record of project leadership.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ MA/MBA (7 - 10) years of experience OR PhD (4 - 6) years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree in public health or related field preferred.
