About the role

As the New York General Manager of Aalto, you will have the opportunity to shape and lead the private real estate market in one of America?s largest cities. You will be the mini-CEO of the entire market ? responsible for the P&L and operating as the ?founder? of the region. From intelligent hiring to engaging and premium agent acquisition, to creative problem solving and demand-side incentive programs ? you?ll lead it all.


What you?ll do

- Define and implement Aalto?s go-to-market and operational strategy in your region, including deciding when to expand into new sub-regions

- Lead agent membership sales across your region

- Recruit and lead a small New York-based team to own the New York metro market

- Manage and own the P&L including monthly performance indicator tracking

- Grow daily private listings and listing engagement

- Represent Aalto at regional real estate events and in local media

- Contribute and share best practices across all Aalto regions


Who you are

- 8+ years of deep, hands-on management. Including combinations of the following functions: sales, operations, business development, marketing, business analytics, customer loyalty and project management

- Sales-oriented. Excited to prospect and convert customers

- Entrepreneurship mentality. If you started a company in High School, this job?s probably for you

- Lone-wolf-ish. Comfortable in a remote office with a small team one day. Meeting clients all day another. Flying to San Francisco to bond with the broader team the next

- Action-oriented. Would rather learn from failing fast than get straight As

- High-energy and motivational leadership. This will extend into sales and business development interactions

- Comfortable with a dynamic role. It will evolve over time as our strategy and collective knowledge matures

- Organized and laser-focused on prioritization. It will be common to execute multiple projects simultaneously, so GMs have to be obsessive about running a tight operation
