Position Description

Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Product Application Support Representative will offer support to one of 3Ms divisions and their corresponding products. They will provide in-depth technical assistance, product information, education, service, and sales lead generation via phone and other electronic interfaces to internal/external business partners and customers.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

The Impact You'll Make in this Role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Acts as the primary liaison with 3M customers
  • Communicate clearly and professionally by telephone, live agent chat and/or written correspondence
  • Educates and informs the customer of various processes and directs customers to appropriate resources
  • Accurately documents customer interactions using applicable CRM systems
  • Develops and leads improvements and/or solutions to work processes and tools
  • Links projects to business strategies and initiates actions that deliver results
  • Handles non-routine and difficult inquiries/ issues. Adapts differing soft-skill techniques and methods to develop solutions for a variety of complex issues
  • Resolves non-routine inquiries/issues and ensures response to products and services. Has knowledge and understanding of other the current processing systems, beyond CRM, that and can provide service to internal and external customers
  • Understands policies and regulations, investigates issues with proper research and communicates with other departments and providers
  • Generates sales leads and promotes other 3M business solutions to support sales growth
  • Improves customer satisfaction by identifying patterns and barriers to solutions by turning a negative situation into a mutually beneficial outcome
  • Must be dependable and able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Two (2) combined years experience engaging, servicing or selling to customers, clients, and/or a direct experience in a 3M Customer Services role in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM
  • Possesses exceptional customer service competencies
  • Enjoys helping and interacting with other people in a friendly, courteous manner and gives continuous attention to customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment and willing to collaborate and compromise, including team leadership
  • Strong Active Listening skills
  • Ability to follow through with commitments and show concern for the needs of others
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to stay focused on tasks
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment and discretion
  • Prefers to stay busy with a full workload and enjoys meeting challenges
  • Ability to handle work-related stress; handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and meet deadlines
  • Location: Wood bury, MN
